 The Ultimate 30 Day Coast to Coast Adventure

 This is the ultimate coast-to-coast experience that will allow you to see everything on your Canadian Bucket List. The tour will be taking you from Halifax to Vancouver (or vice versa) on the ultimate cross Canada travel adventure. The tour includes adventuring in 9 of the 10 Canadian provinces (excluding Newfoundland and Labrador) and will allow you to discover the incredibly beautiful and diverse landscapes across Canada. Highlights include visiting the famous Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, exploring Cape Breton Island, a Pub Crawl in Montrealhiking in Dinosaur Provincial Park, exploring the Canadian Rockies including Lake Louise and Banff, and a beer tour in Kelowna!

 

Once we have determined how many spots remain on the Cross-Canada bus, we will begin offering the East Coast Explorer and West Coast Adventurer to fill the remaining spots!

What's Included?

  • All Accommodation: A combination of front country camping, hostels and cabins

  • Transportation Costs: Includes transportation in a spacious 17-seater bus, covers all gas expenses and any required ferry crossings

  • Most Activities: The majority of activities are included in the overall price, however certain excursions are offered as additional add-ons, such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, etc. Optional activities can be found in the itinerary breakdown!

  • All National Park and Provincial Park Entry Fees 

What's EXTRA?

  • All travellers will be responsible for their own flights and for arriving at the designated pick-up location.

  • Camping Equipment Rentals: We are happy to offer all our travellers’ tent, mattress pad and sleeping bag rentals for the duration of the trip. Each item is $10 to rent to help cover cleaning and repair costs. 

  • Food: At the beginning of each trip we all put $200 into a ‘food fund’. This is then used to buy ingredients that make up the delicious feasts we eat along the way.

  • Alcohol: While alcohol is definitely welcome on our journey, it is not included in the price of the tour. Please note that the drinking age in the majority of Canadian provinces is 19+ and purchases will require valid government ID.

The HALIFAX TO VANCOUVER itinerary

Day 1 - Halifax Pick-Up and Journey to Peggy’s Cove


WELCOME TO CANADA! Before heading off on our coast to coast adventure, we’ll do some quick intros to get to know our new friends and will set off to the local shops where we’ll be stocking up on food for our delicious home cooked meals. We’ll then head west of Halifax to the legendary Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, where we’ll enjoy our first lunch as a new crew and will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful cove. We’ll have our ceremonial touching of the Atlantic Ocean here, which will make our ceremonial touching of the Pacific Ocean 30 days later that much more special. A short drive will bring us to our first campsite where we’ll set up camp and kick back for the night. Watch the beautiful sunset with your new pals and enjoy a drink (or 2 or 3).




Day 2 - Cape Breton Island


From Peggy’s Cove, we’re going to head East to Cape Breton Island - the island of breathtaking trails, rugged cliffs, and incredible scenery. We’ll have a couple of pit stops en route to our campsite, where we’ll explore some of the hidden gems of the island. Once we’re all settled at camp, we’ll head to Cape Breton’s famous skyline trail for a delicious sunset - be sure to keep your eyes out for whales here!




Day 3 and 4 - Prince Edward Island


On the morning of day 3, we’ll be taking a scenic ferry across the St. Lawrence River from Nova Scotia to cute lil’ Prince Edward Island. We’ll take the afternoon to explore charming Charlottetown and will have plenty of free time to enjoy some breweries and local food, after which we’ll get settled at our Cavendish campsite. The following day, we’ll get to explore the red sand beaches of the Island, and all you Anne of Green Gables fans can visit the Green Gables Heritage Place. For our final PEI dinner, we’ll be heading for a famous lobster supper to experience a true East Coast seafood FEAST! Included Activity:

Day 5 and 6 - Fundy National Park


From Prince Edward Island, we’ll be crossing over the confederation bridge - Canada’s longest bridge - to reach New Brunswick. New Brunswick is home to the highest changing tides in the world, and over the next two days we’ll be exploring this incredible region of Canada. We’ll be watching the insane tides at Hopewell Rocks, where we’ll get to experience the rocks both at high tide, and low tide (when we get to actually walk on the ocean floor!) This is a crazy surreal experience and definitely one for the books!! We’ll also be adventuring through some of Fundy National Park’s best trails and taking some time to explore the cutest town of all towns - Alma, an absolute fan-favourite! Included Activity:

Day 7 - Mont Sainte-Anne


From Fundy National Park, we’ll be travelling north to Quebec! Here, we’ll be staying in the ski resort region of Mont Sainte-Anne where we’ll have the option of taking on a Via Ferrata climb of the Sainte-Anne canyon. For those of you new to Via Ferrata (I am too!!) it's a sweet blend of hiking and climbing to give you a new perspective on some beautiful scenery. If you’re ready to take on that adventure, then SWEET! If not, feel free to hike around the Sainte-Anne region or just kick back and chill out at our campsite. Optional Activity:




Day 8 and 9 - Montreal


For days 8 and 9, we’ll be exploring beautiful Montreal. Montreal is the world’s second largest French-speaking city in the world and offers visitors European vibes right here in Canada. We’ll have two full days to explore all that Montreal has to offer - from the beautiful old town, to the top of Mont Royal, to indulging on fresh Montreal bagels, to understanding and appreciating the art of Canadian poutine, and finally to experiencing the city’s incredible nightlife. Bonus: we’ll be staying at M Montreal, which was voted the #1 hostel in the world by HostelWorld and is an attraction in itself.




Day 10 - Ottawa River


From Montreal, we’ll be heading west to Canada’s capital - Ottawa! We’ll be stopping at Canada’s famous Parliament Hill as we head to our campsite on the Ottawa River. We’ll be staying at Owl Rafting (which holds a very special place in our founder Lisa’s heart), as it’s likely the greatest and most underrated spot in Central Canada. Today will be a chill day where we get to enjoy all the amazing facilities of Owl Rafting’s waterfront - kayaking, canoeing, playing volleyball, slipping n’ sliding AND enjoying gourmet meals prepared by the oh so lovely staff at Owl. This will be a day and night to just GET LOOSE.




Day 11 - White Water Rafting on the Ottawa River


White. Water. Rafting. On the Ottawa River. Yes. Yes. YES! This day will have you yelling “WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!” for 99.9% of the day. We hope you’re ready for an adrenaline rush, because on day 11 we’ll be embarking on a day-long, thrilling white water rafting journey on the Ottawa River (one of the best adventure rivers in the world!!). Experience the rapids of the river alongside an experienced professional and all of your FML buddies and enjoy an unreal BBQ lunch on board Owl’s pontoon boats. This will be offered as an additional excursion, but we HIGHLY recommend this experience! For those that choose to stay back, you’ll get to kick-back, relax, and enjoy all of the wonderful facilities at Owl Rafting’s waterfront resort. Optional Activity:




Day 12 - Niagara Falls


On day 12, we’ll be making our way to one of the seven natural wonders of the world - NIAGARA FALLS! This is one of the main places that has put Canada on the map, and it’s definitely a sight you have to see first hand. Here, we’ll be exploring the sweet area of Clifton Hill and we’ll be taking a ride on the famous Maid of the Mist and will be going right under the falls (To all you Office fans, this is where Pam and Jim got married!!) Included Activity:




Day 13 and 14 - Toronto


Welcome to the 6 - where you’re most likely going to bump into Drake, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes AND the Weeknd all at the same time! Okay, this likely won’t happen, BUT you’re still bound to fall in love with the city during our 2 days here. Together, we’ll head up the CN tower, and the absolute thrill-seekers of our crew will have the opportunity to do the CN Tower Edge Walk. If the stars align and the Blue Jays home games (Canada’s one and only Major League Baseball team) match up with our itinerary, we’ll get rowdy in the stands cheering for our team! For those with specific Toronto must-sees and do’s, we’ll have plenty of free time so that everyone can enjoy what the city has to offer. We’ll have a ton of recommendations for you to make the most out of your visit to the 6! Included Activity:

Days 15 to 18 - Northern Ontario


These next 4 days are extremely special as they feature some of the most beautiful yet underrated landscapes of Canada. The drives in Northern Ontario are beyond beautiful with constant twists and turns through incredible forests and lakes. Although we have some long driving days to get through in this portion of the trip, the views will make it all absolutely worth it. Throughout these days, we’ll get to enjoy the clearest and bluest waters of Ontario in Bruce Peninsula National Park, we’ll experience the ferry across Lake Huron as well as the beautiful drive along Lake Superior, and the incredible Lake of the Woods Region of Kenora.




Day 19 - Grasslands National Park


BOY OH BOY - We’ve got a LONG driving day to get from Northern Ontario to Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan, but once we’ve arrived, you’ll likely have your mind blown. Upon arrival, we’ll get to watch an incredible sunset over the never-ending rolling hills of the national park. We will get to observe the Milky way (and a million other goodies) in Canada’s largest dark sky reserve and will have the opportunity to sleep in traditional teepees. With essentially no light pollution near this park, the starry night sky truly is out of this world. This is a very special destination for the FML Adventures family and is definitely one for the books! We cannot wait to share this destination with you all and to make more special memories in one of Canada’s best-kept secrets.




Day 20 - Dinosaur Provincial Park


In the morning, we’ll get to explore more of Grasslands National Park and in the afternoon, we’ll head for our 8th province of the journey - Alberta! We’ll be camping in Dinosaur Provincial Park, which is a world heritage destination and where more than 150 species of dinosaur fossils were once discovered. We’ll take a sunset tour through the park and will enjoy a night of camping in one of the most unique landscapes of Canada’s prairies. Included Activity:




Day 21 and 22 - Banff National Park


WELCOME TO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS! Banff will be our first stop in the Rockies, where you will instantly fall in love with the vibes and the beautiful mountain landscapes. This is the time to explore the most famous destinations of Canada – Banff Village, Sulphur Mountain, and of course, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The insane blues of these lakes will leave you speechless, so get ready for it! If you’re up for it, you can opt for a canoe ride on either of the lakes for the ultimate gram shot (quite pricey but WOWOWEEWOW). Also, be sure to strap in for a night on the town in Banff Village, which is guaranteed to deliver an incredibly wild night out for the FML fam. Included Activity:

Day 23 and 24 - YOHO National Park


We’ll hop over the Alberta-British Columbia border to spend the next couple of days in YOHO National Park, which is a personal favourite. This National Park offers breathtaking views at every corner. Here we’ll get to drive through the most beautiful region, hike to multiple waterfalls, and take a visit to beautiful Emerald Lake.




Day 25 and 26 - Jasper National Park


Jasper here we come! An adventure-filled two days are coming your way, starting with a drive through Canada’s most famous highway – the Columbia Icefields Parkway. En route to Jasper, we’re going to embark on the ultimate Athabasca Glacier experience and enjoy the Athabasca Falls. For our full day in Jasper, we’ll take on some beautiful trails that take you through the Maligne Canyon region of Jasper. We’ll drive through the wildlife highway of Jasper to get a glimpse at all of Jasper’s incredible wildlife and will finish the day off with a breathtaking cruise along Maligne Lake to Spirit Island. Day 27 and 28 - Kelowna


British Columbia here we come! First stop - the Okanagan Valley. A truly beautiful region of Canada where we’ll make ourselves feel at home right in the heart of downtown Kelowna. Over the next two days, we’ll do a variety of activities to get the most out of this region; this includes hiking the Knox mountain, doing a bike n’ beer tour around Kelowna’s breweries, and experiencing the Kelowna nightlife. Day 29 and 30 - Whistler


Last but definitely not least, we’ll be heading straight for WHISTLER! The drive to Whistler features some incredible canyons and mountain landscapes along the way. Once we’ve arrived in Whistler, we’ll have free time to explore Whistler Village and Olympic Village before getting rowdy for our big Whistler night out. The following day, we’ll be waking up bright and early to take on the Joffre Lakes Provincial hike, which offers breathtaking views the whole way up. In the afternoon, you can choose to be a bad-ass and take the plunge in Canada’s highest bungee jump or to take on the Sasquatch, Canada’s longest zipline. If that’s not for you, then be sure to take the Peak to Peak gondola journey from Whistler to Blackcomb, with views that will not disappoint. And then the sad part comes – the final FML family supper and the final night out together. Give your new friends a big hug, reminisce on your month-long journey, and dance until you can’t dance no more. Optional Activities:




Day 31 - Vancouver Drop-Off


The end has arrived. Thankfully, even the last day is going to be super special for the crew. We get to take the Sea to Sky highway from Whistler to Vancouver, where we’ll be stopping at multiple hidden gems along the way. In the end, we’ll drop you off in downtown Vancouver and will leave you with PLENTY of recommendations to make the most out of your time in the beautiful coastal city. Included Activity:

Day 1 - Vancouver Pick-up and Journey to Whistler


WELCOME TO CANADA! With our Vancouver to Halifax trip, we’ll be heading straight for the hot spots on day 1. We’ll start our journey by driving north along the beautiful Sea to Sky highway to WHISTLER! En route, we’ll take a ride on Squamish’s Sea to Sky gondola to take in the unbelievable coastal views. At night, we’ll get settled in and take some time to get to know our new friends a little better. What better way to celebrate the beginning of the ultimate Cross Canada experience than by enjoying some drinks together and heading on a night out in Whistler Village?! Included Activity:




Day 2 - Whistler


Get ready for some forests, mountains, and lakes as we head out on a beautiful hike in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. Yes, the climb isn’t the easiest, but the views from the top are beyond rewarding. We’ll have lunch at Upper Joffre Lake with our new wildlife buddies (Canada’s friendliest birds and chipmunks live here!). In the afternoon, you will have the option to do a variety of thrilling adventures. You can choose to be a bad-ass and take the plunge in Canada’s highest bungee jump or to take on the Sasquatch, Canada’s longest zipline. If that’s not for you, then be sure to take the Peak to Peak gondola journey from Whistler to Blackcomb, with views that will not disappoint. Optional Activities:




Day 3 and 4 - Kelowna

Day 7 - Journey to YOHO National Park


Day 7 is a HUGE day for exploring all things Canada as we'll be driving down Canada's most famous highway - the Icefields Parkway. We'll enjoy some trails and views at Athabasca Falls and will take on the ultimate Athabasca Glacier experience. We will continue along the Icefields Parkway towards YOHO National Park, while taking multiple pitstops to really make the most of this beautiful region of Canada. Finally, we will arrive in YOHO National Park and will settle down at our campsite for the night in preparation for another big day of adventure for the squad. Included Activity:




Day 8 - Kicking Horse White Water Rafting


White. Water. Rafting. On YOHO’s Kicking Horse River. Yes. Yes. YES! This day will have you yelling “WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!” for 99.9% of the day. We’ll be taking the wildest adventure along the rapids of YOHO’s Kicking Horse river, accompanied by a professional rafting guide who’s there to ensure that we all have an incredible time on the river. While this is offered as an optional excursion, we highly recommend this adventure as you’re guaranteed to love it! In the afternoon, we’ll get to enjoy some of YOHO’s best gems – Emerald Lake, Wapta Falls and Takkakaw Falls. Everything about this park is incredible, so you’re bound to love your YOHO experience. Day 9 and 10 - Banff, Lake Louise & Moraine Lake


Banff, here we come! Banff is a beautiful mountain town with forests, mountains and lakes GALORE. This is the time to explore the most famous destinations of Canada – Banff Village, Sulphur Mountain, and of course, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The insane blues of these lakes will leave you speechless, so get ready for it! Also, be sure to strap in for a night on the town in Banff Village, which is guaranteed to deliver an incredibly wild night out for the FML fam. Included Activity:

Day 11 - Calgary


Day 11 marks the end of our Rocky Mountain adventure as we get our last dose of the mountains before heading to Calgary. Here, we’ll have some free time to explore the city as well as time to relax and refresh before the next leg of our Cross-Canada journey.




Day 12 - Grasslands National Park


Grasslands National Park – where to begin? While most people believe that Manitoba and Saskatchewan are just the “drive-through” provinces of Canada, the FML Adventures family now knows that the prairies are much, much more than that. Grasslands National Park is a true Canadian gem and offers the most incredible views. Here, our group will stay in traditional teepees and will enjoy a beautiful sunset and sunrise over the rolling hills of Saskatchewan. Not only that, but as Grasslands National Park is home to Canada’s largest dark sky preserve (meaning that there is essentially no light pollution in the park), the park delivers the most beautiful night sky. This is a truly special destination for the FML Adventures family and is definitely one for the books! We cannot wait to share this destination with you all and to make more special memories in one of Canada’s best-kept secrets.




Day 13 - Riding Mountain National Park


Prairies part 2! From Saskatchewan, we head into Manitoba and will get to explore Riding Mountain National Park. Here, we’ll be camping out and exploring the beautiful regions of this park. We’ll enjoy some of the park’s best hikes and will take in the wilderness and wildlife of this area.




Days 14 to 17 - Northern Ontario


Say hello to our FIFTH province of the trip! By this point of the trip, you’ll have experienced more of Canada than most Canadians have seen. These next 4 days will be extremely special as they feature some of the most beautiful yet underrated landscapes of Canada. The drives in Northern Ontario are beyond beautiful with constant twists and turns through incredible forests and lakes. Although we have some long driving days to get through in this portion of the trip, the views will make it all absolutely worth it. Throughout these days, we’ll get to experience the beautiful Lake of the Woods Region of Kenora, Thunder Bay’s Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, as well as the beautiful drives and campgrounds along Lake Superior. Northern Ontario is an absolute beauty and you are absolutely going to love it!




Day 18 - Niagara Falls


Seventh wonder of the world – we’re coming for you! Niagara Falls may be one of Canada’s most famous destinations and we couldn’t offer a coast to coast tour without visiting the majestic falls. Here, we’ll get to explore the Clifton Hill region of Niagara Falls as well as get right under the falls on the famous Maid of the Mist (if you’re an Office fan, you’ll know the significance of this spot). Day 19 and 20 - Toronto


THE 6! Not only is the six home to FML Adventures, but it’s also home to all of your favourites – Drake, the Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes. They’ve all made a promise to FML Adventures that they’ll be our official hosts for your time in Toronto so GET READY. If you haven’t caught onto our sarcasm, we apologize, and these legends will definitely not be your hosts for our time in Toronto. You will however have plenty of free time in the city to explore whatever it is you want to see! As we’ve said before, Toronto is our home and we have millions of recommendations to ensure you get the most out of your time in the city. From the CN Tower, to the Blue Jays, to Distillery District, to Toronto Island, to Queen Street shopping, and on and on and on. You’re bound to love Canada’s best city (sorry Vancouver, sorry Montreal, we still love you). Included Activity:

Day 21 and 22 - Montreal


Our city tour continues – from one major city to the next. This time, we’ll suddenly be emerged in the Francophone region of Canada. Day 30 - Peggy’s Cove


As we near the end, we’ll make our way to our final destination of our cross-Canada adventure. We’ll be driving west of Cape Breton Island and will make our way to the beautiful region of Peggy’s Cove. Here, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the beautiful cove and the famous East Coast lighthouse. We’ll have our final ceremonial touching of the Atlantic Ocean where we will celebrate the incredible journey that we have just completed. After a full-on day, we’ll take a short drive to our final campsite where we’ll set up camp for the final time and kick back for the night. We’ll watch the beautiful sunset with our new favourite people from around the world and will enjoy many, many drinks while reminiscing on the beautiful month-long journey that we just shared.




Day 31 - Halifax Drop-Off


Unfortunately, the end is here. We’ll be dropping the FML family in downtown Halifax and will leave you all with plenty of recommendations to make the most of your time in this coastal city. *Cue the waterworks*
